Shell dialogue too little too late

MAURA Harrington of Shell to Sea, has this week stated that the Corrib Gas Development Company, Enterprise Energy Ireland has continuously ignored genuine stakeholder attempts to engage in real dialogue.
Ms Harrington told the Western People, “There has been so many calls for this famous dialogue, from Shell’s first notice in local media back in 2002 to now, with promises of proper consultation. The truth is the EEI and Shell have never agreed to attending a public meeting and therefore there has been no engagement with the people”.
The Erris resident has drawn attention to the fact that in the consecutive years of 2002, 2003, 2004 EEI did not engage in talks at any time. Ms Harrington stated, “We would have met them in a public forum at any point up to the jailing, and for us it’s now a case of too little too late”.
