The recently formed ?People Before Profit Alliance/Davitt League? has issued an open invitation to a public meeting next Wednesday, 5 April at 8pm in the Imperial Hotel, Eyre Square.Speakers include Cllr Catherine Connolly, Tom Seale (member of Kilconnell anti-dump group), Micheal O Sheighin (Rossport Five), Su Ming Ku (NUIG lecturer Sociology/Political Science), Maura Harrington (Davitt League) and Eamon McCann (Derry Socialist/Environmental Alliance). The meeting will be chaired by Michael Punch, a lecturer at Trinity College (People Before Profit Alliance).The aim of the meeting is to discuss how interested individuals and activists from diverse groups can work together and campaign for a real change for people in this country and put people before profit. It will also discuss forming a People Before Profit Alliance/Davitt League group in Galway.The People Before Profit Alliance/Davitt League was formally established iN October 2005 by people from a variety of local campaigns.
