The President of the High Court in Ireland will deliver his judgement on April 7 as to whether he will punish the Rossport Five for contempt of court over their Corrib Gas pipeline protests. The five men from north Mayo served 94 days in jail for breaching a court order directing that they not interfere with the work of Shell on the Corrib Gas pipeline. Two of the men were not present in court today. Lawyers for the men have already argued that it would be stern justice and not humane justice to impose a punitive sanction as the men have already served time.Mr Justice Joseph Finnegan will make known his decision in just under two weeks time.
