There will be a Protest on Thursday 26th January outside Leinster House for the visit of senior executives from Shell to meet with West of Ireland TD's.
Thursday 26th January 12.15PM at Kildare Street Entrance to Leinster House.
Organised by Dublin Shell to Sea
This visit by senior Shell executives falls outside the mediation process as set out by the government in September. The eagerness of certain deputies to meet with Shell management at such short notice is in marked contrast to the lack of support received from some TD's when the Rossport 5 were unjustly imprisoned for three months last year.
Shell to Sea are protesting at the fact that Shell are only interested in meeting pro-pipeline groups, and are showing no interest in re-thinking their scheme to force a dangerous, experimental gas pipeline through the North Mayo Gaeltacht village of Rossport, and build a giant gas refinery at Ballinaboy.
