The Fianna Fail Ard Fheis is made to feel unwelcome in Killarney.

Kerry Shell to Sea Solidarity Group organised a small but significant protest outside the Fianna Fail Ard Fheis, held at the Gleneagle Hotel, Killarney last Saturday, October 22nd. We handed in a letter of protest to a representative of Noel Dempsey TD.,

We will not be losing any sleep waiting for his reply. Petitions and lefleting were carried out amongst the general public and 250 An Post members of the CWU who were also holding a protest and the reaponse was very encouraging.,

All the major rallys and there were many, were coralled behind metal barriers away from the Gleneagle. Security was extremely tight and to quote from the Sunday Tribune:

' Four protestors from the Antiwar Movement and the Rossport Five Support Group (Kerry Shell to Sea) were turned away from the gates of the (Gleneagle), sent back to a muddy patch of fenced off grass out of sight of the Fianna Fail marquee'.

At least two Kerry newspapers also covered our protest.
