Jailed Mayo men make High Court appearance

Five Mayo men, imprisoned for breaching a court injunction not to interfere with the construction of the Shell Corrib gas pipeline, made a brief appearance in the High Court this morning.
Their legal team had brought an application for the discovery of documents in preparation for a full hearing which is expected to take place in October.
However, this application, which senior counsel John Rogers indicated would take half a day, has been put back to be mentioned again before the President of the High Court at the start of the new legal term in October.
Family and friends travelled from Co Mayo to give their support to the five men, who have now spent 71 days in prison.
