***Milieudefensie ignites a 15-metre-high flame at Shell Headquarters***
Milieudefensie [Friends of the Earth Netherlands] lit a 15-metre-highflare today (3 May) in front of Shell headquarters in The Hague toprotest against Shell's flaring of gas in Nigeria. In the production ofoil, gas is released which is ignited by Shell. This causes huge flamesthat pollute the air. People in the Niger Delta become ill and harm is done to the climate. Milieudefensie wants the flaring of gas to bestopped immediately.
