Gas supplies off the West coast plentiful

Gas supplies off the West coast plentiful Jan 08, 11:39 amhttp://www.oceanfm.ie/onair/sligoleitrimnews.php?articleid=000003830 There's enough oil and gas off the West coast to meet all our energy needs for the next 90 years a new study has revealed. Commissioned by the Minister for energy Noel Dempsey, it found that there are at least 10 billion barrels of oil or it's equivalent in natural gas lying off the West coast. That's reported to be a conservative estimate. THe findings have prompting Minister Dempsy to rethink the licence terms under which exploration companies can currently gain ownership of those resources simply by finding them. Any new laws however will not apply to the controversial Corrib gas field off the North Mayo coast.
