The Rossport Solidarity Camp in Co. Mayo supports the local community in their struggle against Shell who want to extract raw gas from the sea and pipe it through the community and refine it on land. The Community has been opposing this project since 2000. The Irish Government has blatantly acted as Shell's servant providing gardai to 'protect' private interests and property, instead of protecting the rights of its citizens.
