"The Government have clearly sent the message to Shell, ‘you can do whatever you want’. Fortunately due to protest, the refinery remains unconnected to the gas field. If, as Shell planned, gas had been flowing by now, we would potentially all be dealing with a gas leak and explosion.”

Yesterday evening a badly damaged toilet bowl was recovered from the seas just off Ballyglass pier, in North County Mayo by a deep sea diver. The toilet bowl along with a sign saying "Shell's begging bowl" was recovered after an extensive search of the area around the pier. It is suspected that fishermen, who are currently stopping Shell from carrying survey work on the Corrib pipe in order to try to get more money from Shell, are the main suspects in the criminal damage case. Graffiti has also appeared on the pier reading "Shell's beggars or fishermen" despite being under 24-hour security watch.

A special investigation room has been set up in Belmullet Garda station, anyone with further information should contact 097-999007
