Award-winning film The Pipehas returned to Mayo screens.
The compelling documentary tells the story of local people who are opposed to the Corrib Gas project. The film returns by popular demand to Mayo Movie World and will be screened nightly until at 7.20pm until Thursday, January 27 and at 5.15pm from Friday, January 28 to Wednesday, February 2.
The Pipehas been nominated for an IFTA in the Best Documentary section, as well as being officially selected for both the Berlin and Palm Springs film festivals.
Directed by Risteard O Domhnaill, the film has already picked up the 2010 Best Documentary Award at the Galway Film Fleadh and the Foyle Film Festival, as well as being highly acclaimed by audiences at the Toronto International Film Festival last Autumn. In his film, which was four years in the making, O Domhnaill follows three local people as the local community becomes increasingly divided about the project and the protest.
