New book by Donegal woman exposes story behind Ireland’s gas and oil

Informed by her PhD research, Dr Amanda Slevin's new book Gas, Oil and the Irish State: Understanding the Dynamics and Conflicts of Hydrocarbon Management (Manchester University Press) gives answers to those questions and offers the first comprehensive account of the Irish state and how it manages its gas and oil.

Dr Amanda Slevin, a Convoy woman, became interested in Irish gas and oil when the Rossport Five were jailed in 2005. Amanda’s academic and community activist background led her to wonder how and why the Corrib gas dispute emerged and what role the Irish state played in the evolution of the conflict.

Europa Oil & Gas sees a lot more gas near Shell’s Corrib gas field

Europa has outlined some 1.5 trillion cubic feet of potential gas resources in the vicinity of Ireland's landmark Corrib gas field, which finally came online earlier this year.

Europa Oil & Gas Holdings Plc (LON:EOG) has given investors insight into newly added acreage, offshore Ireland, which is sees as a lower risk opportunity.

Marine Notice: Corrib Flowline Tests & Protection Works

#MarineNotice - Shell E&P Ireland were scheduled to commence flowline installation works between two existing subsea wells at the Corrib gas field this week.

This work will be followed by placement of rock protection along the length of the exposed flowline between the two wells.

There may also be some additional rock placement along the pipeline corridor from the offshore field to the landfall at Broadhaven Bay.
