On Good Friday the community opposing Shell's Corrib gas project in county Mayo held the 8th annual Good Friday walk to remember the campaigners in Nigeria who were murdered for opposing Shell's destruction of their homeland in 1995.

“OSSL management seems to be so disgusted by Shell management that they appear set on a self-destruct mission. The two main possibilities appear to be that they are either responsible for manufacturing forged documents as part of an attempt to put pressure on Shell, or have been drawn by Shell into a corruption conspiracy/scheme operated in Ireland on an industrial scale.”

Documentary: 'Bolivian Escapade': discussed on Pat Kenny

Almost exactly four years ago, in the early hours of April16 2009, Bolivian special forces burst into a hotel in the city of Santa Cruz in the east of the country.

Within minutes they had shot and killed three foreign guests, one of them Michael Dwyer, from Ballinderry in County Tipperary.

The soldiers arrested two other European men, who remain in custody today. In an official statement the Bolivian government accused the group of planning armed insurgency and of plotting to kill the country’s left- wing president, Evo Morales.

European Commission questions State licensing of seismic surveys

Complaint lodged by Irish Whale and Dolphin Group

The European Commission has asked the Government to explain why seismic surveying currently under way off the west coast is not subject to the requirements of EU directives on environmental impact.

It has also asked the State to explain what measures are being taken to monitor and to minimise the impact of seismic surveying on whales and dolphins.

Alleged corruption of the Irish Police by Shell

OSSL seems to have been used as a “Mr Fixit” for SEPIL, allegedly facilitating the distribution of improper gifts to various parties, including the Garda, who rightly or wrongly, have been accused of acting as an offshoot of Shell security in policing protests against the project. It was also alleged that related invoices were falsified on Shell’s instructions.

Richie O'Donnell has a new documentary on the death of Michael Dwyer in Bolvia it is airing on Al Jazeera and Sky digital channel 514  on Wed 3rd Apr, at 10.30PM.

A documentary by an award- winning Mayo filmmaker examines the death of Irishman Michael Dwyer after he was caught up in an alleged plot to assassinate the Bolivian President and the suspected operation links to the private security firm employed on the Corrib Gas project.
